Description

5” Dash Monitor + Sony CCD Bracket Reversing Camera Kit - PM51B

This reversing camera kit pairs our compact 5” dash monitor with our best-selling Sony CCD bracket reversing camera, giving you great reliability and a high-quality image for reversing, rear-view and manoeuvring. It’s a popular choice for vans and motorhomes with limited dashboard space, yet you still want a clear view.

Cable length is 12.5 metres as standard, but you can select from 3 metres up to 20 metres depending on your vehicle and cable route. Some lengths are available with a small 8mm-diameter disconnect joint, designed to help you feed the cable through tighter gaps before rejoining to the standard 4-pin connector. Choose from optional power lead choices, including a 12V lighter plug (handy for testing) or piggyback fuse holder taps for a tidy hardwire install. The heavy-duty U-bracket is always included for the monitor, and you can add alternative mounting brackets if you’d like a different mounting position. See detailed images for more information about options.

Both the monitor and camera in this kit are protected by our well-respected RevCamUK 2-Year Guarantee and lifetime after-sales support. We carefully select our products based on performance, durability and reliability, and in the unlikely event of a fault during the guarantee period, we will repair or replace the unit. Long after installation, we remain available to offer advice and support if you need it.

This kit is a pre-bundled system made up of:
MON5001 5” Dash Monitor (click link for more details)
CAM022 Sony CCD Bracket Reversing Camera (click link for more details)
4-Pin Extension Cable – 12.5 metres supplied as standard (select alternative length if required)

Key features

Compact 5” high-resolution display - The monitor uses an 800 x 480 digital LCD panel for a bright, clear image and stable picture, without taking up loads of space on the dash.

3 camera channels with easy switching - Run up to three cameras if you ever expand the setup. Change channels using the CAM button, the supplied remote, or the trigger wires (for example, auto-switch when reverse gear is selected).

12V and 24V compatible - Suitable for cars, vans and motorhomes, but also works well on larger commercial vehicles. The monitor regulates the feed to the camera to help protect against voltage spikes.

Sony CCD 700TVL bracket camera - A great all-round image thanks to the Sony 1/3” CCD sensor, with strong colour and clarity. The bracket style makes it easy to mount in a position that suits your vehicle.

Rust-resistant black painted stainless steel bracket - No orange streaks down the back of your vehicle. The stainless bracket is rust-resistant and finished in matt black for a tidy look long-term.

Night vision with IR LEDs - 18 IR LEDs combined with the Sony CCD low-light performance gives you strong night visibility behind the vehicle.

IP68 waterproof protection - IP68 waterproof housing, proven to withstand the worst the British weather can throw at it.

4-pin screw-lock connector system - A proper vehicle-grade connector that locks in place, helping prevent intermittent connection issues and keeping things robust.

Options you can select with this kit

Extension cable length - 12.5 metres supplied as standard. Upgrade or change the cable length from 3 metres up to 20 metres to suit your vehicle.

8mm small disconnect joint (on certain cable lengths) - Some cable options include a small 8mm diameter connector designed to help get through tight cable routes before re-joining to the standard connector.

Power lead options - Choose from different power methods including a 12V lighter plug (often used for testing) or piggyback fuse holder taps for a neat hardwire install.

Alternative mounting bracket options - The heavy-duty U-bracket is always included for the monitor, and optional brackets can be added if you want a different mounting position.

Detailed Images

Yes. If you connect one of the monitor’s trigger wires to your reverse light feed, the screen will automatically switch to the reversing camera when reverse gear is selected. When you come out of reverse, it will return to the previous channel or turn off (depending on whether the monitor was on/off before the trigger).

Yes. The monitor is designed to work on both 12V and 24V vehicle systems. It is suitable for cars, vans and motorhomes as well as larger commercial vehicles such as trucks and HGVs. The monitor regulates the power supply fed back to the camera to help protect it from voltage spikes.

Yes. Many customers wire the system to an ignition live feed so the monitor can stay on while driving, allowing the camera to be used as a rear-view camera as well as for reversing. The reversing trigger wire can still be used so it switches automatically when reverse is selected.

12.5 metres is supplied as standard and is suitable for most vans and motorhomes. If you have a shorter vehicle or a longer wheelbase vehicle, you can choose from 3 metres up to 20 metres. If you are unsure, it is generally safer to choose slightly longer rather than too short.

Some cable lengths are available with a small 8mm diameter disconnect joint positioned near the front of the cable. This allows you to feed the thinner connector through tight gaps or existing grommets before reconnecting it to the main cable. It can make installation easier on some vehicles.

If you are comfortable removing interior trim panels and connecting into a reverse light or ignition feed, most DIY installers can fit this system themselves. No specialist programming is required. If you are unsure, any competent auto electrician or vehicle installer will be able to fit it.

Yes. The camera has an IP68 waterproof housing and is designed for permanent external mounting on the rear of a vehicle. It is built to handle rain, road spray and general UK weather conditions.

This kit is covered by our 2-Year Guarantee and lifetime after-sales support. In the unlikely event of a fault within the guarantee period, we will repair or replace the unit. We are also on hand to offer installation advice and ongoing support long after purchase.
