Description

RV66 Compatible Replacement Reversing Camera with 6-Pin PS/2 Adaptor Bundle

A replacement bundle designed for motorhome owners using the original factory-fitted RV66 reversing camera system, commonly found in Swift, Autotrail and Bessacarr motorhomes. This package includes a compact black pod-style reversing camera together with a 6-pin PS/2 adaptor cable, allowing connection to the existing factory wiring without the need for a complete rewire.

Important compatibility note: The original RV66 outer plastic housing is now obsolete and no longer available anywhere. We have checked multiple suppliers and sources but complete replacement housings can no longer be obtained.

Fortunately, we have still been able to source the internal ball-style replacement camera section used inside the original RV66 assembly. As most customers are replacing an existing RV66 camera like-for-like, the original housing is normally already fitted to the vehicle and can usually be reused.

Our replacement camera is designed to fit into your existing RV66 casing, allowing you to retain the original factory appearance whilst replacing the failed camera section only.

More about this bundle

Designed for RV66 systems: This bundle is specifically for vehicles originally fitted with the RV66 reversing camera system. It provides a practical alternative without requiring the removal or replacement of the original factory wiring throughout the vehicle.

Adaptor cable included: The supplied 6-pin PS/2 adaptor converts the camera’s standard 4-pin fly lead to the same-style connector used by the original factory system. On some installations, an additional reverse trigger wire may need to be connected, depending on how the original system was configured.

Factory-style appearance: The replacement camera is designed to sit behind the original trim and housing, helping maintain the clean OEM appearance commonly used on Swift and Autotrail motorhomes.

Image quality and performance:
– 1/3" Sony CCD image sensor
– 700 TVL resolution
– Infrared LEDs for night vision
– 120° wide-angle viewing
– Mirror image output for reversing use
– IP68 waterproof housing, proven to withstand the worst the British weather can throw at it.

What’s included

  • RV66-compatible replacement reversing camera
  • 6-pin PS/2 adaptor cable
  • Wiring guidance and installation information

Absolutely not. Most cameras only require between 3-4 pins to be in use.  On the reversing camera, the adaptor does have a tail coming off (similar to what is on the original camera), this does allow the reverse light feed to run down one of the 6 pins to the EM 5 Series box at the front of the vehicle.

Many hundreds.  We have had no issues in replacing the cameras with one of ours.

Approximately half of the installs had a reverse light connection (usually an orange coloured wire) connected up, the other half didn't.  If yours did, you would solder/crimp our wire to this.  If it didn't you would leave it unconnected, but please add insulation tape around the end to avoid it touching anything - it will connect to the reverse trigger pin of the 6-pin connector, so when the box at the front of the vehicle has reverse voltage, the trigger lead will also go live.
