Description

VW Transporter T5 / T6 Double Barn Door Brake Light Reversing Camera (CVBS 700 TVL) | CAM560

This brake light reversing camera is designed specifically for VW Volkswagen Transporter T5 and T6 vans with double rear barn doors (2003–2024). It replaces the original high-level brake light, retaining a neat factory-fitted appearance while adding a clear and reliable reversing view that works with the vast majority of aftermarket monitors and head units.

The camera uses our long-proven PC4089 high-resolution image sensor, paired with a high-quality all-glass composite lens, producing a clear and reliable 700 TVL CVBS image with good colour balance and contrast. This is a sensor we’ve used for many years because we know it performs reliably to a high standard, outperforming many lower-down versions commonly found in brake light cameras.

Key features

Tidy factory look – Designed to be an exact fit in place of the original VW Transporter high-level brake light, keeping a clean OEM appearance.

Easy installation using original mounting points – Reuses the factory fixing points and openings, making installation straightforward with no drilling or irreversible vehicle modifications.

Clear and reliable CVBS (NTSC) image from upgraded PC4089 sensor – Outputs a standard CVBS NTSC video signal, making it compatible with the vast majority of aftermarket reversing camera monitors, dash displays and head units. The PC4089 sensor delivers a clear, dependable 700 TVL picture with natural colours and consistent performance.

High-quality all-glass composite lens – Uses a proper all-glass composite lens rather than cheaper plastic-glass alternatives. This avoids UV sun-fade and the cloudy look that often develops over time with lower-quality lenses.

160° diagonal wide viewing angle – Provides a wide, usable view behind the vehicle to help spot obstacles, posts and pedestrians when reversing.

IP69K waterproof construction – IP69K-rated housing, proven to withstand the worst the British weather can throw at it, including heavy rain, road spray and regular jet-washing.

Excellent build quality – We’ve chosen one of the best brake light camera manufacturers we’ve worked with over nearly 20 years in the industry. These cameras may cost more to produce, but the long-term reliability and customer satisfaction make it worthwhile.

UK tested and supplied with a 2-year Revcamuk guarantee – Fully tested and supported in the UK. If a non-user-damage fault develops within two years, we’ll replace the camera to keep your vehicle reversing safely.

Detailed Images

The reverse camera will fit where the original high-level stop lamp was. This will still function as a brake light, as well as giving enhanced safety with the improved rear vision.

There could be a number of reasons they may be cheaper than us, the most common are below :

  • Rejected Production Runs - This is more common on the marketplaces where there are a lot of non-UK businesses (although the stock is often in the UK). When one of the larger factories produces a camera they will age-test a batch to ensure that the quality is sufficiently high to be able to send to their big customers (like us). If a production run fails this test with a high enough number having issues, the whole batch is often sold off for "recycling" the components. Sadly, these get placed in a container setting sail to the UK and other destinations, and eventually listed on a marketplace at crazy low prices - lower than we can buy hundreds at a time for. Sometimes you are lucky, sometimes you are not, depending on how badly the batch failed.
  • Cheaper Components Used - There are different standards of image sensor, support chips, lenses and camera bodies. We opt for better quality; the results speak for themselves. We didn't earn our reputation by buying as cheap as we could; it's not what our customers want. Although at the same time we really do keep our prices as low as possible. The cheaper prices help us to sell more volume, which means we can bring the cameras in by ocean shipping, saving freight costs, which we pass to the consumer.
  • Produced by a "Factory for the day" - We have seen some shocking quality cameras sent to us over the years by customers. There is a phenomenon in China where someone can rent factory space for a day or two in order to complete a production run. Often this is a factory employee that is trying to go it alone and start his own business. Sadly, they don't often have the best engineers, they usually buy the lowest price/quality components, have the lowest standard of production line worker, and they can't afford to reject a bad production run. These usually either end up on a Marketplace or sold directly from a Chinese website.

In short, trust us to find the best quality and support you for safety and peace of mind.
