CAM222BAHD - Black Twin-Lens 1080P AHD Reversing and Rear-View Camera

This is our high-definition twin-lens AHD reversing and rear-view camera designed for motorhomes, large vans, HGVs and other longer vehicles that need both a wide angle reversing view and a realistic rear-view driving image. Inside the black-painted stainless steel bracket are two separate cameras: a wide-angle reversing lens for close-up parking and hitching, and a narrower rear-view driving lens that provides a more natural sense of distance without an exaggerated fisheye effect. Both lenses output a 1080P AHD signal based on the Sony IMX307 1/2.8" image sensor, providing a sharp, detailed picture. The camera connects via 2x 4-pin aviation connectors. A dedicated twin signal lead is available in a choice of lengths, with selected lengths offering an 8 mm disconnect joint to help with routing through any tight gaps. This model must be used with a 1080P compatible AHD monitor and is supplied with our two-year Reversing Cameras UK guarantee.

Key Features

Twin-Lens Design for Reversing and Driving - The bracket contains two completely separate cameras in one bracket. One lens is a wide-angle reversing camera, ideal for parking and close manoeuvring, while the other is a narrower field of view rear-view driving camera that gives a more natural perspective for viewing traffic behind you.

1080P AHD Sony IMX307 Image Sensor - The combination of the FH8550M AHD processing chip and the Sony IMX307 1/2.8" CMOS sensor provides a crisp 1080P high-definition image with strong colour accuracy and excellent low-light behaviour. It is a noticeable step up from older analogue CVBS systems.

Optimised Lens Angles for Both Driving and Parking - The reversing lens uses a 3.6 mm lens with an approximate 120° viewing angle to give a wide view for parking and hitching, while the rear-view driving lens uses an 8 mm lens with an approximate 45° viewing angle to provide more accurate distance perception and minimise distortion when used as a driving aid.

Choice of IR on the Rear-View Driving Lens - You can choose whether your rear-view driving lens is supplied with IR night vision or not via the dropdown menu. Some customers prefer the non-IR version because it prevents the camera switching between day and night modes under street lights or headlight glare. Unlike older analogue cameras that fade gradually into night mode, AHD cameras use a mechanical IR-cut filter that physically moves into place during daytime to keep colours accurate, then moves out of the way at night so infrared light can be used. This design delivers excellent image quality but leads to more on-or-off behaviour, so opting for a non-IR rear lens keeps the image stable at night whilst still delivering the best possible colour accuracy under normal driving conditions. The reversing lens remains IR-equipped for parking in the dark in both models.

Stainless Steel Bracket and Black Finish - The camera uses a durable stainless steel bracket with a black painted finish, designed to resist corrosion and keep its appearance over time. The bracket allows the camera to be mounted high up on the rear of the vehicle and adjusted to give the best view for both reversing and rear-view driving.

IP68 Waterproof - IP68 waterproof housing, proven to withstand the worst the British weather can throw at it. The sealed construction helps protect against rain, road spray and general grime picked up during everyday use on motorhomes, vans and HGVs.

Wide Dynamic Range and Night Performance - Wide dynamic range support helps balance bright and dark areas in the image, so details are easier to see in challenging lighting. Combined with the Sony IMX307 sensor and the IR capability on the reversing lens, the camera provides a clear, usable image even in low-light conditions.

4-Pin Aviation Connector and Twin-Lens Extension Cable Options - The camera connects via two industry-standard 4-pin aviation connectors, which can be connected to an optional dedicated twin-lens cable that carries both video feeds and power. It provides a secure, vibration-resistant link that installers and auto electricians prefer, and works seamlessly with our AHD monitors and adaptor sets.

Extension cable options (twin-lens)

This twin-lens camera can be supplied with a dedicated AHD twin-lens cable available in a range of lengths to suit different vehicle sizes. The cable has been specifically engineered to carry two separate 1080P high-frequency AHD video signals without interference, using a double-jacket PVC outer sleeve and individually separated internal signal wires. Each video feed has its own shielding, earth, and power wires, helping maintain signal integrity over long cable runs and ensuring both lenses deliver a sharp, stable, high-definition image.

For selected lengths, you can choose a version with a slim 8 mm disconnect joint, approximately 1 m from the monitor end. This compact joint makes routing much easier through tight spaces such as factory trunking, grommets, and roof linings, where full-size plugs would be difficult to feed through. Please note that the 8 mm disconnect joint is not waterproof and must be kept inside the vehicle or within a suitably protected area.

RCA adaptor set option (twin-lens)

If your monitor or head unit has RCA video inputs, an optional twin-lens RCA adaptor set is available as a discounted bundle when ordered with this camera. The set includes two of each of the following components, one for each lens:

• 2 × CAB0020 4-pin to RCA adaptor (video and power breakout)
• 2 × CAB101 1.5 m power leads with inline fuse (red +12 V and black earth)
• 2 × RCA/Phono couplers to link male RCA plugs to RCA inputs if required

This gives you everything you need to connect both the reversing and rear-view driving lenses to an RCA-based monitor or stereo head unit.
