Description

Fiat Ducato, Citroen Relay, Peugeot Boxer & Vauxhall Movano Brake Light Reversing Camera (CVBS 700 TVL) | CAM1723

This CVBS version of our popular CAM1723 is designed as a direct replacement for the upper brake light assembly on Fiat Ducato, Citroen Relay, Peugeot Boxer (2006–present) and later Vauxhall Movano models (2022+). It keeps a proper OEM-style appearance so the rear of the van still looks factory, while adding a clear and reliable reversing view that works with the vast majority of aftermarket systems.

The camera uses our long-proven PC4089 image sensor, paired with a high quality all glass composite lens, producing a high-resolution 700 TVL CVBS image with good colour and contrast. We’ve used this sensor for many years because it gives great performance and has proven itself to be reliable. The 160° diagonal viewing angle offers great rear coverage for parking, and the IP68 waterproof rating keeps the camera protected from the Great British weather.

Key features

Tidy factory look – Designed to sit exactly where the original high-level brake light fits, keeping a neat factory-fitted appearance with no add-on brackets or external boxes.

Easy installation using original mounting points – The camera re-uses the vehicle’s original fixing points, making installation straightforward with no drilling or irreversible modifications required.

High-Resolution CVBS (NTSC) image using upgraded PC4089 image sensor – Outputs a standard CVBS NTSC video signal, so it works with the vast majority of aftermarket reversing camera monitors, dash displays and head units. The higher-grade PC4089 sensor delivers a stable 700 TVL picture with bright, vibrant colours and good contrast.

High-quality all-glass composite lens – Uses a proper all-glass composite lens rather than plastic. It holds its clarity over time and avoids the UV sun-fade issues we see far too often with cheaper alternatives.

160° diagonal wide viewing angle – Gives a wide, usable view behind the vehicle to help spot obstacles, posts and people when reversing.

IP68 waterproof construction – IP68 waterproof housing, proven to withstand the worst the British weather can throw at it, whether the van is parked up or working every day.

Optional 4-pin to RCA adaptor – Available as an option for connecting to aftermarket head units or displays that use standard RCA/phono video inputs.

Optional extension cables – 5 m to 15 m 4-pin aviation extension cables are available to suit everything from short panel vans through to longer motorhome conversions.

UK tested and supplied with a 2-year Revcamuk guarantee – With almost 20 years in the reversing camera industry, we’ve worked with a lot of factories. These brake light cameras come from one of the best manufacturers we use and are fully supported with our 2-year Revcamuk guarantee. If a non-user-damage fault develops within two years, we’ll replace the camera to keep you reversing safely.

Our reverse camera for the brake light will fit the same entry point and fixings as the original camera. In fact this particular model uses the original brake lights light strip.

There could be a number of reasons they may be cheaper than us, the most common are below :

  • Rejected Production Runs - This is more common on the marketplaces where there are a lot of non-UK businesses (although the stock is often in the UK). When one of the larger factories produces a camera they will age-test a batch to ensure that the quality is sufficiently high to be able to send to their big customers (like us). If a production run fails this test with a high enough number having issues, the whole batch is often sold off for "recycling" the components. Sadly, these get placed in a container setting sail to the UK and other destinations, and eventually listed on a marketplace at crazy low prices - lower than we can buy hundreds at a time for. Sometimes you are lucky, sometimes you are not, depending on how badly the batch failed.
  • Cheaper Components Used - There are different standards of image sensor, support chips, lenses and camera bodies. We opt for better quality; the results speak for themselves. We didn't earn our reputation by buying as cheap as we could; it's not what our customers want. Although at the same time we really do keep our prices as low as possible. The cheaper prices help us to sell more volume, which means we can bring the cameras in by ocean shipping, saving freight costs, which we pass to the consumer.
  • Produced by a "Factory for the day" - We have seen some shocking quality cameras sent to us over the years by customers. There is a phenomenon in China where someone can rent factory space for a day or two in order to complete a production run. Often this is a factory employee that is trying to go it alone and start his own business. Sadly, they don't often have the best engineers, they usually buy the lowest price/quality components, have the lowest standard of production line worker, and they can't afford to reject a bad production run. These usually either end up on a Marketplace or sold directly from a Chinese website.

In short, trust us to find the best quality and support you for safety and peace of mind.
