Description

Peugeot Expert / Traveller, Vauxhall Vivaro C & Toyota ProAce Brake Light Reversing Camera (CVBS 700 TVL) | CAM340

The CAM340 brake light reversing camera is a factory-style upgrade designed to fit Peugeot Expert (2016–present), Peugeot Traveller (2019–present), Vauxhall Vivaro C (2019–present) and Toyota ProAce (2016–present) vans. It replaces the original upper brake light while re-using the OEM light strip, keeping the rear of the vehicle looking and performing exactly as it should.

The camera uses our long-proven PC4089 700 TVL high-resolution image sensor paired with a high-quality all-glass composite lens, producing a clear and reliable CVBS image with strong colour reproduction and contrast. This is a sensor we have used for many years because we know it performs reliably to a high standard, and it outperforms many lower-down alternatives commonly found in brake light cameras.

Key features

OEM factory-fit appearance – Designed to retain the original look of the vehicle while discreetly adding a reversing camera. The original brake light strip is transferred into the new housing.

Clear and reliable CVBS (NTSC) image from upgraded PC4089 sensor – Outputs a standard CVBS NTSC video signal, making it compatible with the vast majority of aftermarket reversing camera monitors, dash displays and head units. Delivers a clear and reliable 700 TVL picture chosen for long-term performance rather than headline specs.

High-quality all-glass composite lens – Uses a proper all-glass composite lens rather than cheaper plastic-glass designs. This avoids UV fade and the cloudy appearance that develops over time with lower-quality lenses.

170° diagonal wide viewing angle – Provides a wide, usable rear view to help spot obstacles, posts and pedestrians when reversing, without excessive distortion.

IP69K waterproof protection – IP69K-rated housing offers the highest level of ingress protection, proven to withstand the worst the British weather can throw at it.

Easy installation using original mounting points – Designed to use the vehicle’s original fixing points and openings, avoiding drilling or additional sealant.

Improved safety where it matters most – Reversing is one of the highest-risk manoeuvres. This camera helps improve rear visibility in an area that is traditionally hard to see from the driver’s seat.

UK tested and supplied with a 2-year Revcamuk guarantee – With almost 20 years in the reversing camera industry, we work only with factories we trust. These cameras are fully supported with our 2-year guarantee. If a non-user-damage fault develops within that period, we’ll replace the camera to keep you reversing safely.

There could be a number of reasons they may be cheaper than us, the most common are below :

  • Rejected Production Runs - This is more common on the marketplaces where there are a lot of non-UK businesses (although the stock is often in the UK). When one of the larger factories produces a camera they will age-test a batch to ensure that the quality is sufficiently high to be able to send to their big customers (like us). If a production run fails this test with a high enough number having issues, the whole batch is often sold off for "recycling" the components. Sadly, these get placed in a container setting sail to the UK and other destinations, and eventually listed on a marketplace at crazy low prices - lower than we can buy hundreds at a time for. Sometimes you are lucky, sometimes you are not, depending on how badly the batch failed.
  • Cheaper Components Used - There are different standards of image sensor, support chips, lenses and camera bodies. We opt for better quality; the results speak for themselves. We didn't earn our reputation by buying as cheap as we could; it's not what our customers want. Although at the same time we really do keep our prices as low as possible. The cheaper prices help us to sell more volume, which means we can bring the cameras in by ocean shipping, saving freight costs, which we pass to the consumer.
  • Produced by a "Factory for the day" - We have seen some shocking quality cameras sent to us over the years by customers. There is a phenomenon in China where someone can rent factory space for a day or two in order to complete a production run. Often this is a factory employee that is trying to go it alone and start his own business. Sadly, they don't often have the best engineers, they usually buy the lowest price/quality components, have the lowest standard of production line worker, and they can't afford to reject a bad production run. These usually either end up on a Marketplace or sold directly from a Chinese website.

In short, trust us to find the best quality and support you for safety and peace of mind.
