White Dome Reversing Camera with Sony CCD Image Sensor and Night Vision – CAM070WThis white dome bodied reversing camera is a popular alternative to traditional square or bracket-mounted cameras, especially on motorhomes and white vans where a discreet, colour-matched finish is preferred. The rounded dome design keeps the camera visually subtle while still offering excellent image quality. Adjustable Dome Camera Design - The camera can be angled during installation to suit your mounting position. It can be tilted downward for reversing use or angled more level to monitor following traffic when used as a rear-view camera. High Quality Sony CCD Image Sensor - Fitted with a high-spec Sony CCD image sensor, this camera produces a stable, clear image with good colour reproduction in daylight. CCD sensors are well regarded for their strong dynamic range and consistency in traditional CVBS reversing camera systems. Infra Red Night Vision - The camera is fitted with Infra Red LEDs to provide night vision in low-light conditions. The IR light is invisible to the human eye, so it will not distract following drivers, but allows the camera to continue producing a usable image in the dark. At night the image switches to black and white for improved clarity. IP68 Waterproof Construction - The camera body is sealed to IP68 standards, meaning it is designed to withstand heavy rain, road spray, and harsh weather when mounted externally on a vehicle. Wide Viewing Angle - A wide-angle lens provides approximately a 120° diagonal field of view, giving good rear coverage without excessive distortion, making it easier to judge distance when reversing. Mirror Image Output - The camera outputs a mirror image as standard, replicating what you expect to see in your normal vehicle mirrors and making reversing intuitive. 12V Operation via Monitor - The camera operates on 12V power supplied via the monitor. When used with 12V/24V monitors, the monitor regulates the voltage down to 12V for the camera, which is standard behaviour for all monitors we stock. Connector details and power information 4-Pin Connector Info The camera is fitted with a 4-pin screw aviation connector on an approximately 55cm fly lead. This allows direct connection to any of our 4-pin monitors and extension cables, carrying both video signal and regulated power through a single secure connector. 4-Pin to RCA Adaptor Option An optional discounted 4-pin to RCA adaptor is available if you need to connect this camera to an RCA-based monitor or stereo head unit. This adaptor can be useful in two scenarios: 1) Modern vehicles with CANBUS or pulsed (PWM) reverse feeds Using a 4-pin extension cable with this adaptor allows the camera to be powered from an ignition feed at the front of the vehicle instead of relying on the reverse light circuit. A simple reverse trigger wire can still be used so the display only activates when reverse is selected. 2) Viewing the camera when not in reverse If you want to view the camera on demand (for example while driving forward or manoeuvring), the adaptor allows independent power so the image can be displayed without engaging reverse gear.
