CAM022AHD - Black 1080P AHD Bracket Reversing CameraThis black Sony AHD high-definition reversing camera is one of the staples of our HD range and remains one of our most popular models. It’s built to be rugged and heavy-duty, widely used on everything from agricultural machinery to vans, motorhomes, trailers, and commercial vehicles. As a bracket-mount camera it is extremely versatile and can be fitted almost anywhere – on horizontal or vertical surfaces – giving installers plenty of options. The bracket is painted stainless steel, still stainless underneath, but with a long-lasting matte black finish that doesn’t flake and keeps the camera looking smart for years. The Sony IMX307 Starlight 1080P sensor offers excellent low-light performance and a genuinely high-quality HD image. Just make sure your monitor supports the 1080P AHD video signal; more information is provided further down the listing. Key Features1080P Sony IMX307 AHD Image Sensor - Provides a detailed, high-definition image with excellent colour balance and strong performance in a wide range of lighting conditions. Flexible Mounting Bracket - The stainless steel U-bracket allows the camera to be mounted higher up on rear walls, doors or other suitable flat surfaces and then angled precisely where you need the view. Rust Resistant Painted Stainless Steel Bracket - The bracket is made from stainless steel with a matt black painted finish, avoiding the rust streaks associated with mild steel brackets. IR Night Vision LEDs - Built-in infrared LEDs help illuminate the area directly behind the vehicle in low-light conditions so the camera can still provide a clear reversing image. IP68 Waterproof Housing - IP68 waterproof housing, proven to withstand the worst the British weather can throw at it. Mirror Image Output - The camera outputs a mirror image suitable for rear-view use, so left and right appear as you would expect when reversing. Wide Viewing Angle - The lens provides a wide view behind the vehicle to help reduce blind spots when manoeuvring. 4-Pin Waterproof Screw Connector - Uses the standard 4-pin aviation connector, providing a secure, weather-resistant connection compatible with our camera kits and accessories. AHD compatibility notice Please note: This is a high-definition 1080P AHD camera. It must be used with a monitor that supports AHD video input. Extension cable optionsWe offer extension cables from 1M to 20M, so you can choose the length that best suits your vehicle layout and installation route. Selected cable lengths are available with a slim 8 mm disconnect joint positioned approximately 1M from the monitor end. This compact joint makes it much easier to feed the cable through tight areas such as grommets, headlining and factory trunking. RCA adaptor set optionThe optional RCA adaptor set is available as a discounted bundle and includes all the parts needed to connect this camera to an RCA-based monitor or head unit. The set consists of a CAB0020 4-pin to RCA adaptor, a CAB101 1.5M power lead with red (+12V) and black (earth) wires and an inline 3A fuse for protection, plus a small RCA/Phono coupler to link a male RCA plug to another male RCA input, if required. It will only work with a monitor that supports 1080P AHD. Standard analogue (CVBS) monitors won’t display the picture properly. Our AHD-compatible Monitor Category houses Monitors that will work perfectly with this camera.
Yes, the housing is IP68 waterproof, so it’s designed to put up with heavy rain, road spray, frost etc. You can fit it high or low on the back of a van or motorhome without any issues.
Yes. The lens on this model gives a wide reversing view, and it’s perfectly fine to leave it on while driving if your monitor supports constant display. If you prefer a more natural rear-view driving lens, I’d normally suggest one of the twin-lens options.
As a rough guide:
• 5 m → small vans and cars
• 7.5 m → medium vans and large cars
• 10 m → most standard vans
• 12.5 m → standard motorhomes
• 15 m → long motorhomes
• 20 m → coaches, buses and HGV
It’s optional on the long extension cable and only needed if you’ve got an additional tight routing point further down the run where the larger connector won’t fit. Most customers are absolutely fine with the standard one-piece extension cable.
If your route is straightforward, choose the standard cable. If you know you’ve got a second restricted area to pass through, choose the 8 mm option and it will make the install much easier.
