Description

Black Roof / Overhang Twin Reversing & Rear View Camera for Motorhomes, Vans, HGVs & Lorries – VANCAMTW

This twin camera roof / overhang mounted system combines a rear-view driving camera and a downward-facing reversing camera into a single compact housing. It is designed for larger vehicles such as motorhomes, vans, HGVs, and lorries where a high mounting position is required for safe manoeuvring.

Twin Camera System – Rear View + Reversing - This camera features two independent lenses: one optimised for rear-view use while driving, and a second downward-facing camera designed specifically for reversing and parking. This gives you improved visibility both when on the move and when manoeuvring at low speed.

High-Performance PC4089 Image Sensors - Both cameras are fitted with high-performance 1/3" PC4089 700TVL image sensors. These are the same modern image sensors used in our highly respected brake light cameras, providing excellent colour reproduction in daylight and strong low-light performance.

Infra Red Night Vision Where It’s Needed - Infra Red LEDs are fitted to the downward-facing reversing camera only. Night vision is extremely effective at short distances when parking, but not useful for long-distance rear-view driving. By fitting IR LEDs only where they add value, this camera delivers better overall performance.

Premium All-Glass Lens Construction - This camera is produced by the same factory that manufactures our brake light cameras and uses a high-quality 4-element composite glass lens. This is a significant upgrade over the more common 2-glass / 2-plastic lens designs, which can degrade over time due to heat and UV exposure.

Designed for High-Level Mounting - The camera is intended to be mounted on a roof edge, overhang, or high rear panel. This makes it ideal for tall vehicles where bumper or bracket-mounted cameras would not provide adequate coverage behind the vehicle.

Mirror Image Output - Both camera outputs are mirror image as standard, ensuring the display behaves like a conventional mirror with intuitive left/right orientation.

IP68 Waterproof Construction - The camera housing is sealed to IP68 standards, meaning it is fully protected against dust and water ingress and suitable for permanent external mounting in harsh weather conditions.

12V Operation via Monitor - The camera operates on 12V power supplied via the monitor. When used with 12V/24V monitors, the monitor regulates the voltage down to 12V for the camera, which is standard behaviour for all monitors we stock.

Optional Stainless Steel Extension Mount (ACC345)

On some vans and larger vehicles, particularly where rear doors or bodywork are quite thick, the camera housing can sit slightly too close to the vehicle and partially obscure the field of view.

Improved Viewing Angle for Thick Door or Panel Designs - The optional ACC345 stainless steel extension plate spaces the camera further away from the vehicle body, restoring a clear downward viewing angle behind the vehicle.

Purpose-Made Stainless Steel Bracket - Manufactured from stainless steel for long-term corrosion resistance, the extension plate integrates cleanly with the roof-mounted camera design.

Complete Fixings Supplied - The extension plate is supplied with all stainless steel fixings required to secure the camera to the extension plate, and the extension plate to the vehicle.

If required, this optional stainless steel extension mount (ACC345) can be selected using the drop-down menu on this listing.

Connector details and power information

4-Pin Connector Info

The camera is fitted with a 4-pin screw aviation connector, allowing direct connection to any of our 4-pin monitors and extension cables. Video signal and regulated power are carried through a single secure connector.

4-Pin to RCA Adaptor Option

If you require RCA / phono connections for use with an RCA monitor or stereo head unit, an optional discounted 4-pin to RCA adaptor can be selected. This adaptor can be useful in two scenarios:

1) Modern vehicles with CANBUS or pulsed (PWM) reverse feeds
Using a 4-pin extension cable with this adaptor allows the camera to be powered from an ignition feed at the front of the vehicle instead of relying on the reverse light circuit. A simple reverse trigger wire can still be used so the display only activates when reverse is selected.

2) Viewing the camera when not in reverse
If you want to view the camera on demand (for example while driving or manoeuvring), the adaptor allows independent power so the image can be displayed without engaging reverse gear.
