Description

Renault Master, Nissan NV400 & Vauxhall Movano Brake Light Reversing Camera (CVBS 700 TVL) | CAM401

This brake light reversing camera is designed as a direct, factory-style replacement for the triangular door-mounted brake light on Renault Master (2010–present), Nissan NV400 (2010–present) and Vauxhall Movano (2010–2022) vans. It maintains a neat OEM appearance while adding a clear, reliable reversing image that works with the vast majority of aftermarket monitors and displays.

The camera uses our long-proven PC4089 700 TVL high-resolution image sensor paired with a high-quality all glass composite lens, giving you excellent colour reproduction, sharp detail and strong performance over years of use. Built-in infrared night-vision LEDs help you see behind the van in low light, and the durable IP68 waterproof housing is designed for year-round outdoor use.

Key features

Factory-fit appearance – Designed to sit in the exact location of the original upper brake light, retaining a tidy, OEM-style look.

Clear and reliable CVBS (NTSC) image from upgraded PC4089 sensor – Outputs a standard CVBS NTSC video signal so it works with the vast majority of aftermarket reversing camera monitors, dash displays and head units. The higher-grade PC4089 sensor delivers a clear and reliable 700 TVL picture with natural colours and good contrast, selected for long-term performance.

High-quality all glass composite lens – Uses a proper all-glass composite lens rather than the cheaper plastic-glass alternatives. This holds clarity over time and avoids the UV fade and “milky” look that we see far too often with lesser cameras.

Infrared night vision LEDs – A ring of IR LEDs around the lens gives excellent low-light performance so you can still see obstacles clearly when reversing in unlit yards, car parks or country lanes. The IR light is invisible to the human eye and will not dazzle other road users.

160° diagonal wide viewing angle – Offers a broad, confidence-boosting view behind the van, helping you avoid posts, pedestrians and other hazards with less guesswork.

Selectable on/off parking guidelines – Static guidelines come fitted as standard, with a trigger loop that allows you to remove them if you prefer a clean unaltered view.

Easy installation using original mounting points – Reuses the factory brake light fixings and openings, so installation is straightforward with no drilling or irreversible modifications required.

4-pin connector with optional RCA adaptor – Supplied with a 4-pin aviation connector, and optional 4-pin → RCA adaptor set is available for connection to RCA input monitors or stereos.

IP68 waterproof construction – IP68-rated housing, proven to withstand the worst the British weather can throw at it, whether parked overnight or working every day.

Detailed Images

Our reverse camera for the brake light will fit the same entry point and fixings as the original camera making fixing the camera up a breeze.

There could be a number of reasons they may be cheaper than us, the most common are below :

  • Rejected Production Runs - This is more common on the marketplaces where there are a lot of non-UK businesses (although the stock is often in the UK). When one of the larger factories produces a camera they will age-test a batch to ensure that the quality is sufficiently high to be able to send to their big customers (like us). If a production run fails this test with a high enough number having issues, the whole batch is often sold off for "recycling" the components. Sadly, these get placed in a container setting sail to the UK and other destinations, and eventually listed on a marketplace at crazy low prices - lower than we can buy hundreds at a time for. Sometimes you are lucky, sometimes you are not, depending on how badly the batch failed.
  • Cheaper Components Used - There are different standards of image sensor, support chips, lenses and camera bodies. We opt for better quality; the results speak for themselves. We didn't earn our reputation by buying as cheap as we could; it's not what our customers want. Although at the same time we really do keep our prices as low as possible. The cheaper prices help us to sell more volume, which means we can bring the cameras in by ocean shipping, saving freight costs, which we pass to the consumer.
  • Produced by a "Factory for the day" - We have seen some shocking quality cameras sent to us over the years by customers. There is a phenomenon in China where someone can rent factory space for a day or two in order to complete a production run. Often this is a factory employee that is trying to go it alone and start his own business. Sadly, they don't often have the best engineers, they usually buy the lowest price/quality components, have the lowest standard of production line worker, and they can't afford to reject a bad production run. These usually either end up on a Marketplace or sold directly from a Chinese website.

In short, trust us to find the best quality and support you for safety and peace of mind.
