Black Roof / Overhang Reversing Camera - Sony CCD 700TVL - 4-Pin
Description
Black Roof / Overhang Reversing Camera for Motorhomes, Vans, HGVs & Lorries – VANCAMBThis roof / overhang mounted reversing camera is designed for larger vehicles such as motorhomes, vans, HGVs, and lorries where a higher mounting position is required. Fitted above the rear doors or high on the bodywork, it provides an excellent downward viewing angle to monitor blind spots directly behind the vehicle. Designed for High-Level Mounting - This camera is intended to be mounted on a roof edge, overhang, or high rear panel. This makes it particularly suitable for tall vehicles where a standard bumper or bracket camera would not provide adequate coverage. Sony 1/3" CCD Image Sensor - Fitted with a high-performance Sony 1/3" CCD 700TVL image sensor, this camera delivers a clear, stable image with good colour reproduction during the day and excellent sensitivity in low-light conditions. CCD sensors remain a strong choice for traditional CVBS reversing camera systems due to their consistency and dynamic range. Infra Red Night Vision - Infra Red LEDs are built into the camera to provide night vision when light levels drop. These LEDs activate automatically and emit light that is invisible to the human eye, ensuring following traffic is not distracted while allowing the camera to see clearly in the dark. Wide Viewing Angle - The camera offers an approximate 120° diagonal viewing angle, providing good rear coverage while maintaining natural distance perception, which is especially important when reversing large vehicles. Mirror Image Output - The camera outputs a mirror image as standard. This ensures that the image behaves like a conventional mirror, with obstacles appearing on the correct side of the display. IP68 Waterproof Construction - The camera body is sealed to IP68 standards, meaning it is fully protected against dust and water ingress and is designed to cope with harsh weather conditions when mounted externally. 12V Operation via Monitor - The camera operates on 12V power supplied via the monitor. When used with 12V/24V monitors, the monitor regulates the voltage down to 12V for the camera, which is standard across all monitors we stock. Optional Stainless Steel Extension Mount (ACC345)On some vans and larger vehicles, particularly where the rear doors or bodywork are quite thick, the camera housing can sit slightly too close to the vehicle and partially obscure the field of view. This can be more noticeable when the camera is mounted high up on a roof edge or overhang. Improved Viewing Angle for Thick Door or Panel Designs - The optional ACC345 stainless steel extension plate allows the camera to be spaced further away from the vehicle body. This helps restore a clear downward viewing angle and improves visibility directly behind the vehicle. Purpose-Made Stainless Steel Bracket - The extension plate is manufactured from stainless steel for long-term corrosion resistance and strength. It is designed specifically to work with our roof-mounted cameras and integrates cleanly with the existing mounting arrangement. Complete Fixings Supplied - The extension plate is supplied with all required stainless steel fixings to secure the camera to the extension plate, and the extension plate to the vehicle. If required, this optional stainless steel extension mount (ACC345) can be selected using the drop-down menu on this listing. Connector details and power information 4-Pin Connector Info The camera is fitted with a 4-pin screw aviation connector. This allows direct connection to any of our 4-pin monitors and extension cables, carrying both video signal and regulated power through a single secure connector. 4-Pin to RCA Adaptor Option If you require an RCA / phono connection for use with an RCA monitor or stereo head unit, an optional discounted 4-pin to RCA adaptor can be selected from the drop-down menu. This adaptor can be useful in two scenarios: 1) Modern vehicles with CANBUS or pulsed (PWM) reverse feeds Using a 4-pin extension cable with this adaptor allows the camera to be powered from an ignition feed at the front of the vehicle instead of relying on the reverse light circuit. A simple reverse trigger wire can still be used so the display only activates when reverse is selected. 2) Viewing the camera when not in reverse If you want to view the camera on demand (for example while manoeuvring or monitoring a load), the adaptor allows independent power so the image can be displayed without engaging reverse gear.
