Overhang Roof Mount Reversing Camera Kit with Mirror Monitor

• This reversing camera kit comes with our popular 7" mirror monitor, plus a black roof mount overhang camera.  
• These kits are popular with vans and motorhomes, as the camera body fixes to the roof, whilst its plastic body overhangs outwards with an adjustable ball camera at the end.  
• If you require it, we stock an extension plate for the roof mounted overhang reversing camera here.
• The picture is very good as the camera comes with a Sony 700TVL 1/3" CCD image sensor inside and the monitor uses an 800x480 pixel digital panel screen. This combination gives a good resolution and good colour replication. 
• New for 2024, you can now choose to upgrade the black version to Sony Starvis 1080P AHD image sensor. Experience even better definition, dynamic range, and performance (not available on the white model at present).
• IR LEDs are used on the camera to give night vision in low light level conditions.

Upgrade Option (BLACK CAMERA OPTION ONLY) - Sony CCD vs Sony AHD 1080P

• AHD stands for Analogue High Definition - allows long analogue coax cables to be used to transmit high definition digital signal
• Increases monitor display resolution by 60% with an IPS panel upgrade
• The camera will use an improved Sony 1080P AHD image sensor
• You will experience improved dynamic range, more vivid colours, and superior low light level performance
• Please note that AHD systems take a little longer to change channels/load up (approx. 2 seconds) vs standard CVBS systems.

Cable Length Options

We stock a large range of cable lengths to suit any vehicle, whether you have a car, van, motorhome, tractor, coach, bus, or HGV. We also stock adaptors for the Dometic/Waeco 6 pin screw locking cable commonly found pre-fitted on Burstner and Baileys motorhomes. We can also provide a slimline 8mm disconnect point to our 10M/12.5M/15M cable lengths to help you run the cable through tight gaps without having to drill a large hole for the main connector.

Power Options

• On the monitor wiring harness is a 2.1mm DC socket. On the drop down menu of this product, you can select your desired power lead to plug in to this.
• The standard hardwiring is supplied with all options, this terminates in a red wire (+12V/+24V), and black wire (earth).
• For the ultimate quick install is a lighter plug option. Some people also order this just for the initial setup, before changing to the standard hardwiring/fuse tap.
• Fuse taps aka piggyback fuse holders, are the most recent addition to our options. This allows you to "piggyback" off an existing circuit from your fuse box. The most common size fuse found in modern vehicles is the mini blade (size = 10.9mm wide x 16.4mm tall), older vehicles are likely to have the standard blade (size = 19.1mm wide x 18.8mm tall). • Our fuse taps were designed by us, they have a 200cm lead that connects directly to the monitor socket with no soldering / crimping required. There is a black wire with an earth terminal attached - designed to fix to a chassis bolt/screw.  This earth wire/terminal can be separated away from the red wire to enable you to find the most convenient ground/earth (although often this is next to the fuse box).

Mirror Mounting Options

For many years we have supplied the universal clip-over existing interior mirror rear-view monitor. More recently we have also begun to offer the monitor with a variety of direct-to-windscreen stalk brackets. We have windscreen brackets to fit the most popular van and motorhome models, as well as a universal option where you can glue a mounting plate to the windscreen for a bracket to fit. For vehicles that have no mounting plate fitted, this option provides you with a universal mounting plate, a bracket to fit this plate, and the Loctite 319 glue designed to fix it to your windscreen. Optional Extension Plate for Camera

We stock an optional stainless steel extension plate to assist fitting on vehicles that have thick doors. The extension plate has cut outs to match the base of the roof mounted overhang camera. We provide stainless steel fixings to fit the camera and extension bracket. To order, simply select the option before adding to the basket. 

Easy-Fit Wiring

• We have been using this type of cabling since 2007, and it has performed perfectly in all of this time. It is called the 4 pin aviation cable, and uses what is known as a 4 pin GX12 connector.
• This type of connector is very durable, and can be kept outside exposed to rain and freezing temperatures.
• It makes fitting easier, and avoids CANBUS issues due to the monitor powering the camera.
• It keeps contacts clean and dry, plus prevents them from accidental separation.
• It has become the industry standard connector, which means you aren't forced to buy future cameras/cables/upgrades from one retailer - as parts are interchangeable between numerous suppliers (although we are confident you will be impressed enough with us that you will choose us for any future upgrades/spare parts).
• All of our aviation extension cables are high quality, with the inner cores consisting of pure copper. We do not use the cheaper CCA (Copper Coated Aluminium) or CCS (Copper Coated Steel) cables, because they are more prone to failure/degradation over time.

2 Year Guarantee

We supply with a 2-year Guarantee with us, meaning we will repair or replace any non-user damaged parts that are deemed faulty.  Our failure rate is very low even beyond these two years, if you have a problem outside of 2 years we should still have compatible parts and possible repairs for reasonable amounts.

Parts Tested in the UK

The parts of this kit will have been tested twice, once by the factory and once by us.  We check all the items in the kit including all cables, trigger wires, IR LEDs and menu functions to reduce any chance of having a non-working part.  Our fault rate is extremely low, and we just like to ensure that we avoid any imperfection slipping past.  This is why professional fitters love us.
