Small white bracket reverse parking camera - CAM529This compact bracket-mounted reversing camera was added to our range to offer a small, flexible camera option with a higher-quality image than is usually found in cameras of this size. The white finish makes it particularly well suited to motorhomes and white vans where a discreet installation is important. Modern High-Resolution Image Sensor - This camera is produced using the PC4089 image sensor — the same sensor we use in our highly regarded brake light cameras. The PC4089 is a modern generation CMOS sensor, not to be confused with the low-cost CMOS sensors used in budget cameras in the past. It delivers a clear, detailed image with good colour replication while allowing the camera to be offered at a more competitive price than CCD-based models. All-Glass Lens Construction - We specified this camera with a 4-element all-glass lens. Many similar cameras use a mix of glass and plastic lenses, which can become cloudy over time due to heat and UV exposure. By using only glass lenses, long-term image clarity is maintained. Compact Adjustable Bracket - The small adjustable bracket allows the camera to be positioned accurately, making it easy to achieve the desired viewing angle. It is ideal for reversing or parking applications where a subtle, flexible mounting solution is required. Guideline Function ON/OFF - A trigger loop is fitted to allow the on-screen parking guidelines to be enabled or disabled, depending on your preference or the requirements of your monitor or head unit. Weather Protection - The camera body itself is rated to IP68 and is suitable for permanent external mounting. As with many compact cameras, an inline voltage regulator is fitted along the cable and must be positioned in a clean, dry, protected location inside the vehicle. Power Compatibility - The camera operates on 12V. When used with a 4-pin connection to a 12V/24V compatible monitor, the monitor automatically regulates the voltage supplied to the camera. This is standard practice, as most 24V vehicle systems still supply 12V to the camera. Connector details and power information Connectors Info (RCA and 4 Pin) The camera is supplied with both a 4-pin screw connector and an RCA phono connector. You can choose which to use by swapping at the small 6.5mm disconnect point located roughly 60cm back from the camera. Please note there is also a non-waterproof power regulator at the same distance. This must be positioned in a dry, protected location (for example inside a tailgate) to prevent premature failure. 4-Pin to RCA Adaptor Option Even though this camera is supplied with both connector types as standard, we still offer a discounted 4-pin to RCA adaptor for those who need it. This can be useful in two scenarios: 1) Modern vehicles with CANBUS or pulsed (PWM) reverse feeds Using a 4-pin cable plus this adaptor allows the camera to be powered from an ignition feed at the front of the vehicle instead of relying on the reverse light feed. A simple reverse trigger can still be used so the monitor or stereo only activates when reverse is selected. 2) Viewing the camera when not in reverse If you want to view the camera on demand (for example while manoeuvring forward or monitoring a trailer), the adaptor allows the camera to be powered independently without needing to select reverse gear. |
