Ford Transit Custom Dual-View Brake Light Reversing & Rear-View Camera – LED Version (CVBS 700 TVL) | CAM007FTC LED TW

The CAM007FTC LED TW CVBS Dual-View Brake Light Camera is designed for Ford Transit Custom vans from approximately May 2016 to 2024 that use the later LED-type centre brake light. It replaces the original factory LED brake light and integrates two separate cameras: a downward-facing reversing camera and a horizontally aimed rear-view driving camera, all within a tidy, factory-style housing.

The downward-facing camera monitors the area directly behind the vehicle when reversing, while the second camera looks further down the road to provide a useful rear-view image while driving. Both cameras use our long-proven PC4089 image sensor, paired with high-quality all-glass composite lenses, producing clear and reliable 700 TVL CVBS images with good colour and contrast. We’ve used this sensor for many years because we know it performs reliably to a high standard and it outperforms many lower-down versions commonly found elsewhere.

If your Transit Custom uses the earlier bulb-type brake light (2012 – May 2016), this version will not fit. Please use the bulb twin-view version instead.

High-quality all-glass composite lenses – Uses all-glass composite lenses rather than plastic-glass alternatives. This helps maintain clarity over time and avoids UV sun-fade and softening issues commonly seen with cheaper lenses.

Infrared night vision on the reversing camera – The downward-facing reversing camera is fitted with infrared LEDs to assist when reversing in low-light conditions or complete darkness.

OEM-style LED brake light housing – Replaces the original LED brake light for a tidy, factory-fitted appearance with no additional housings or external modules.

IP68 waterproof construction – Fully sealed IP68 housing, proven to withstand the worst the British weather can throw at it and suitable for year-round outdoor use.

Supplied with 7-pin main connector and splitter adaptor – Supplied with a 7-pin output and a 7-pin to 2 × 4-pin adaptor, allowing straightforward connection using standard 4-pin CVBS cabling.

Optional adaptors and extension cables – Optional 4-pin to RCA adaptors and 10 m to 15 m extension cables are available to suit different installation layouts and longer vehicles.

Our reverse camera will fit the same location/entry point as the original brake light. The original lights plug will be inserted into the new brake light reverse camera to keep the high-level brake light working well.

There could be a number of reasons they may be cheaper than us, the most common are below :

  • Rejected Production Runs - This is more common on the marketplaces where there are a lot of non-UK businesses (although the stock is often in the UK). When one of the larger factories produces a camera they will age-test a batch to ensure that the quality is sufficiently high to be able to send to their big customers (like us). If a production run fails this test with a high enough number having issues, the whole batch is often sold off for "recycling" the components. Sadly, these get placed in a container setting sail to the UK and other destinations, and eventually listed on a marketplace at crazy low prices - lower than we can buy hundreds at a time for. Sometimes you are lucky, sometimes you are not, depending on how badly the batch failed.
  • Cheaper Components Used - There are different standards of image sensor, support chips, lenses and camera bodies. We opt for better quality; the results speak for themselves. We didn't earn our reputation by buying as cheap as we could; it's not what our customers want. Although at the same time we really do keep our prices as low as possible. The cheaper prices help us to sell more volume, which means we can bring the cameras in by ocean shipping, saving freight costs, which we pass to the consumer.
  • Produced by a "Factory for the day" - We have seen some shocking quality cameras sent to us over the years by customers. There is a phenomenon in China where someone can rent factory space for a day or two in order to complete a production run. Often this is a factory employee that is trying to go it alone and start his own business. Sadly, they don't often have the best engineers, they usually buy the lowest price/quality components, have the lowest standard of production line worker, and they can't afford to reject a bad production run. These usually either end up on a Marketplace or sold directly from a Chinese website.
