CAM647 AHD - 1080P AHD Side Camera

This black side-pod AHD reversing camera is designed for use as either a side-view blind-spot camera or as a rear-mounted reversing camera on vans, motorhomes and commercial vehicles. The pod housing mounts neatly on the vehicle body, and the internal ball-joint camera allows you to fine-tune the angle for the best possible viewing position. A Sony IMX307 1/2.8″ image sensor, produces a clear, sharp 1080P picture with excellent colour reproduction and low-light performance. Whether used for lane-changing, blind-spot monitoring or reversing, the camera provides high levels of detail and better visibility compared to older CVBS systems. The wide 120° viewing angle offers a broad field of view without extreme distortion, making it suitable for both side and rear applications. Built-in infrared LEDs provide night vision performance up to around 9 metres, helping maintain safe visibility after dark. The IP68 waterproof housing ensures reliability in rain, spray and harsh British weather conditions throughout the year.

Its Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) helps balance bright and dark areas, and the strong colour accuracy combined with Sony’s proven reliability makes it ideal for long-term use on commercial vehicles and motorhomes.

Heavy-Duty Side Camera - The larger body of the CAM647AHD provides space for improved internal optics and hardware, delivering superior image quality compared to smaller side cameras. This added robustness makes it especially suitable for commercial vehicles where durability and image quality is essential.

Versatile Mounting Options - The CAM647AHD can be mounted on either the left or right side of the vehicle, and many customers also use it as a downward-facing rear camera on taller vans and motorhomes. Its flexibility makes it a popular choice for motorhomes, vans and commercial fleets.

Night Vision LEDs - Infrared LEDs automatically activate in low-light conditions to help identify hazards near the vehicle at night. The IR is invisible to the human eye but works together with the IMX307 sensor’s strong starlight performance to reveal obstacles in unlit roads, depots and rural areas.

IP68 Weatherproof Rating - The camera is built to an IP68 waterproof rating and is designed to withstand British rain, storms and constant road spray. Durable internal seals prevent moisture ingress, and the rugged construction resists vibration, making it ideal for long-term use on commercial vehicles and motorhomes.

4-Pin Aviation Connector - The industry-standard 4-pin aviation connector features a waterproof screw-fit design that forms a very secure mechanical lock. The non-proprietary wiring ensures compatibility with all of our 4-pin cables, as well as many similar systems from other suppliers, and is preferred by auto electricians for its reliability.
