CAM918B AHD - Black 1080P AHD Pod-Style Reversing Camera

This is our CAM918B AHD, the high-definition version of our pod-style reversing camera. It uses the 2399 starlight AHD image sensor to produce a sharp 1080P PAL image with excellent colour detail and very low noise in darker conditions. 1080P AHD compatibility: This camera is designed for AHD 1080P PAL systems only and requires an AHD-compatible monitor or DVR. It is not suitable for most aftermarket stereos or head units and will not display on standard monitors. 1080P AHD 2399 Starlight Sensor - The compact 2399 AHD sensor provides excellent daytime clarity with strong colour reproduction and performs extremely well at night with very low noise. For its size and cost, it delivers surprisingly high performance that we rate close to some Sony IMX sensors. We have also received very positive feedback from professional auto electricians who are often impressed by how capable this sensor is in real-world use.

Slim 6.5 mm Mini Connector - The camera starts with a narrow 6.5 mm mini connector that makes routing through tight areas, factory grommets and the rear wall of motorhomes or vans far easier. It reduces the need to enlarge existing holes or remove interior trim. After approximately 1 metre, the cable transitions to a full-size 4-pin aviation connector for a secure, waterproof final connection.

Compact, Discreet Housing - The small, neat housing blends well with the styling of modern vans and motorhomes and avoids the obvious bolted-on appearance that larger bracket cameras can have. Its compact shape makes it suitable for both rear mounting and side positioning, offering flexibility without drawing attention to itself.

Night Vision LEDs - The built-in infrared LEDs automatically activate in low light to help illuminate close-range hazards at night. The IR light is invisible to the human eye but works together with the camera’s starlight sensor to reveal obstacles in dark lanes, unlit driveways and storage areas where standard reversing lights are not enough.

IP68 Weatherproof Housing - Built to an IP68 waterproof rating, the camera is designed to handle British rain, storms and constant road spray. Durable internal seals prevent moisture ingress, and the housing is resistant to vibration and shock, making it suitable for long-term use on vans and motorhomes throughout the year.

4-Pin Aviation Connector - The camera transitions to an industry-standard 4-pin aviation connector, which is preferred by auto electricians for its reliability and secure waterproof fit. The non-proprietary design avoids locking you into a single brand and ensures full compatibility with our cables and adaptor sets.
